H&J Events adds The Royal Academy of Engineering to its portfolio

We are delighted to announce that Harbour & Jones has been appointed by the Royal Academy of Engineering to run its catering services. The Academy, founded in 1976 to promote excellence in engineering, is one of four national academies in the UK (the others being The Royal Society, the British Academy and The Academy of Medical Sciences).

The Academy’s Carlton House Terrace headquarters have recently undergone an extensive multi-million pound refurbishment and is being relaunched in May as a conference and lecture venue. The modern style rooms within the Grade 1 listed Regency building by John Nash are well suited to corporate meetings, conferences and exhibitions with capacities of up to 150 theatre style for lectures. Harbour & Jones will also be responsible for promoting and selling the venue, which will be launched to the market as Prince Philip House, named after The Duke of Edinburgh who was instrumental in founding the Academy.

We are now recruiting a brand new team for the site which will include a General Manager, Sales Manager and Head Chef. We will also be able to draw on our resources from the Central Production Kitchen, Client Support Team and nearby venues at the Institute For Government and The Royal Society.

Commenting on the win, Business Development Director Sally Main said, “We are thrilled to add this prestigious venue to our portfolio of clients. By working on the synergies between The Academy of Medical Sciences and The Royal Society, we believe that we can bring additional business to all three venues.”
