Event - Canapés and Dinner and Prize Giving
76 Portland Place, June 2009
This event for 60 people started with a canapĂ© reception on the terrace at 76 Portland Place with the evening sun shining through the floor to ceiling windows. To drink we offered Prosecco or elderflower pressĂ© and to accompany this we handed round cured scallops with chilli dressing, rolled ham hock with quince and basil, crostini of Cornish crab, quailâ€™s egg Benedict and shots of chilled cucumber and mint soup.
Dinner was served in the in the Herschel, a beautiful period Georgian room with tables dressed in ivory linen with elegant white flower arrangements as centrepieces. The menu reflected the best of Juneâ€™s produce; asparagus with light grapefruit hollandaise followed by poached sea trout with crushed new potatoes and minted peas and broad beans and pudding was Pimms and summer berry jelly terrine.
The award ceremony took place in the same room and the guests remained at their tables enjoying coffee and lavender shortbread during the prize giving. As this was an international company, a video link had been set up so that the non-attendees could accept any awards and also see what they were missing!
